Job Overview:
The Bidding & Estimating Manager will oversee the preparation submission and management of bids and cost estimates for projects. This role requires strong analytical skills industry knowledge and leadership capabilities to ensure competitive and profitable proposals. The manager will work closely with internal teams clients and vendors to develop accurate estimates and strategic pricing while maintaining compliance with company and industry standards. A key requirement for this role is the ability to read and interpret construction plans to ensure precise cost assessments and project feasibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the bidding and estimating process for projects.
- Develop accurate cost estimates based on project scope materials labor and other factors.
- Analyze bid requirements contract terms and specifications to ensure compliance.
- Read and interpret construction plans blueprints and technical drawings to develop precise estimates.
- Collaborate with engineering procurement finance and operations teams to gather necessary data.
- Identify potential risks and opportunities to improve bid competitiveness.
- Negotiate pricing and contracts with vendors and subcontractors.
- Track market trends competitor pricing and industry developments.
- Maintain and improve estimating tools databases and processes.
- Provide reporting and insights to senior management on bid success rates and strategy effectiveness.
Qualifications :
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in construction management engineering business or a related field.
- Strong experience in bidding estimating or cost analysis within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans blueprints and technical documents.
- Possess a strong background in bidding and estimating management with expertise in the principles and methodologies of the U.S. construction industry. Indepth knowledge of California construction codes permitting processes and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in estimating software and project management tools.
- Strong leadership negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
