Job Title: Pharmacist
Job Summary: A pharmacist is responsible for dispensing medications prescribed by doctors advising patients on their proper use ensuring the safe and effective use of medications and providing general healthcare services. They work in a variety of settings such as hospitals retail pharmacies and clinics.
Key Responsibilities:
Dispensing Medications: Accurately dispense prescription medications and overthecounter (OTC) products as per the instructions provided by healthcare providers.
Patient Consultation: Counsel patients on the proper use of their medications including dosage timing side effects interactions and storage requirements.
Medication Therapy Management: Review prescriptions for potential drug interactions allergies and contraindications. Ensure that prescribed medications are appropriate for the patients health conditions.
Inventory Management: Maintain adequate inventory levels of medications and supplies. Order medications as needed and ensure proper storage and handling of drugs.
Health Advice: Provide advice on lifestyle changes smoking cessation diet and overthecounter products.
