AOWJ is recruiting a skilled Senior Oracle Database Administrator on behalf of one of our clients a reputable company based in Cairo Egypt.
Position overview:
The Ideal candidate will manage maintain and optimize our Oracle database systems. have a strong foundation in relational database design performance tuning and disaster recovery solutions. You will play a critical role in ensuring database reliability security and performance while contributing to strategic IT initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Database Management: Administer and manage Oracle database environments ensuring their availability reliability and scalability.
- Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize database performance troubleshoot bottlenecks and implement best practices for Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO).
- Backup and Recovery: Develop manage and test database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
- High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR): Design and implement HA and DR solutions ensuring minimal downtime and quick recovery during system outages.
- Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Utilize native tools and scripts for database health monitoring and troubleshooting addressing issues proactively.
- Security: Ensure compliance with security protocols manage user access and safeguard sensitive data.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations changes and procedures.
- Collaboration: Work closely with application development teams to design and implement database solutions that meet business requirements.
- Certifications: Keep current with Oracle certifications and advancements to enhance database operations and support evolving technologies.
Requirements
Qualifications and Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in Oracle database administration.
Certifications:
- ITIL Foundation Certification is required.
- Oracle certifications such as MCTS MCITP and/or MVP are preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in relational database design and concepts.
- Proficiency in Oracle performance tuning optimization and native troubleshooting tools.
- Indepth experience with database backup restore and recovery models.
- Advanced knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Detailoriented with a focus on system security and reliability.
