Key Role: The Deputy Project Manager (Engineer) will support the Project Manager in leading and coordinating all aspects of the museum project in Mecca. This role focuses on ensuring the successful planning design and execution of engineering and architectural elements within the project in compliance with quality standards timelines and budget constraints. The Deputy Project Manager will liaise between stakeholders contractors consultants and internal teams to ensure the project progresses seamlessly.
Responsibilities
Project Coordination
- Assist the Project Manager in developing and implementing project strategies schedules and budgets.
- Coordinate design and engineering activities ensuring alignment with the museum s vision and requirements.
- Oversee technical aspects of the project to ensure compliance with specifications standards and regulations.
Design Oversight
- Supervise the design process ensuring designs are practical sustainable and innovative while meeting cultural and contextual requirements.
- Review and approve engineering and architectural designs ensuring their technical feasibility and aesthetic quality.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with architects engineers contractors and museum specialists to deliver integrated solutions.
- Communicate project updates and progress to stakeholders and the Project Manager.
Risk Management
- Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize delays or cost overruns.
- Monitor compliance with health safety and environmental standards.
Construction Support
- Oversee and support onsite construction activities ensuring adherence to approved designs and specifications.
- Resolve technical issues that arise during the execution phase.
Reporting
- Prepare and present regular progress reports to the Project Manager and stakeholders.
- Track project milestones and deliverables ensuring timely completion.
Recommended Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of museumspecific engineering and architectural design principles.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g. Primavera MS Project).
- Knowledge of building codes construction standards and sustainability practices.
- Expertise in engineering disciplines such as structural mechanical or electrical systems.
- Familiarity with 3D modeling tools (e.g. AutoCAD Revit) for design review and analysis.
