We are seeking an experienced and innovative Assistant Chief Engineer to join our team in Doha Qatar. In this key leadership role you will work closely with the Director of Engineering to oversee the technical operations of our facilities ensuring optimal performance maintenance and safety of all building systems and equipment.
- Assist in managing the daytoday operations of the engineering department including maintenance repairs and upgrades of building systems and equipment
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime
- Collaborate with other departments to address technical issues and improve overall facility operations
- Oversee and coordinate the work of engineering staff and external contractors
- Assist in budget preparation and management for the engineering department
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and environmental standards
- Participate in emergency response planning and implementation
- Contribute to energy conservation initiatives and sustainability efforts
- Provide technical guidance and training to engineering team members
- Assist in the development and execution of longterm facility improvement plans
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Facilities Management or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in hotels or facilities management or a similar role preferably in a largescale commercial or industrial setting
- Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC electrical plumbing and fire safety
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and familiarity with building automation systems
- Excellent problemsolving skills with a proactive approach to maintenance and repairs
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience managing teams
- Strong project management skills including budget oversight and resource allocation
- Solid understanding of safety regulations and best practices in facility management
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with fluency in English
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents blueprints and schematics
- Experience with energy management and sustainability initiatives is a plus
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in Qatar is advantageous
