Position Title: SCADA Operator
Location: Doha Qatar
Department: Wastewater Treatment
Reports To: Plant Supervisor/Operations Manager
Position Overview:
The SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) Operator for the Waste Water Treatment Plant monitors controls and optimizes the plants operations through the SCADA system. This includes realtime plant equipment management ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and providing technical support to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the wastewater treatment process.
Key Responsibilities:
SCADA Monitoring and Control:
- Operate and monitor SCADA systems to ensure that the wastewater treatment process runs efficiently.
- Monitor realtime data from various plant components such as pumps valves flow meters and chemical dosing systems.
- Respond to alarms and take corrective actions as needed to ensure the safety and efficiency of the treatment plant operations.
- Control plant processes remotely including startup shutdown and adjustments to parameters like flow chemical dosing and treatment cycles.
- Operate and monitor SCADA systems to ensure that the wastewater treatment process runs efficiently.
Data Collection and Reporting:
- Record log and track operational data in accordance with environmental and regulatory standards.
- Generate daily weekly and monthly reports based on system data for analysis and compliance purposes.
- Ensure that all data entries are accurate and uptodate in the SCADA database.

Preventative and Corrective Maintenance:
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to troubleshoot SCADA system issues or alarms and initiate corrective actions.
- Perform routine inspections and checks of the SCADA system and associated plant equipment.
- Assist in the maintenance of SCADA hardware software and peripheral devices.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to troubleshoot SCADA system issues or alarms and initiate corrective actions.
Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:
- Diagnose and resolve operational issues related to the SCADA system and associated equipment.
- Work with engineers and technical support teams to address system faults or failures.
- Ensure all equipment is functioning as intended to avoid downtime or performance issues.

Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations and procedures.
- Ensure that SCADA systems provide accurate data to meet regulatory requirements for wastewater discharge and treatment processes.
- Participate in safety drills training and initiatives to maintain a safe working environment.

Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with plant operators engineers and technical staff to optimize plant operations.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues during shift changes and plant updates.
- Provide detailed handovers to ensure smooth transitions and continuity in operations.

Requirements
Experience operating SCADA systems in a wastewater treatment plant environment including PLC HMI and DCS is preferred.

Diploma in Mechanical / Chemical / Electrical/ Instrumentation Engineering BSc. Chemistry or equivalent
