AtkinsRalis has an exciting fulltime career opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer of 10 to 15 years experience to build a career in the area of Power Systems HVDC Transmission and Distribution. The role will be based in Egypt.
The candidate will work in a fastpaced consulting environment with excellent career growth opportunities. This position reports to the Electrical team lead.
Responsibilities
Working in collaboration with the Electrical team to prepare the following deliverables / provide the following engineering services (nonexhaustive list):
- Development of technical specifications for the procurement of electrical equipment (comprehensive);
- Development of conceptual and detail design of HV substations (single line diagrams layouts BOM etc.);
- Conceptual and detail design of MV distribution systems and Lvac and LVdc distribution systems;
- Design of interfaces with protection and control systems civil works structures;
- Preparation of bid documents and bid evaluations;
- Design review of detail design performed by O.E.M. and thirdparty detail design;
- Ensure interdisciplinary coordination;
- Audits and technical assessment of HV and MV substations;
- Construction supervision; development of installation procedures and method statements;
- Commissioning supervision;
- Witnessing factory testing;
- Feasibility and technoeconomic studies (substations distribution systems etc.);
- Design studies and calculations (load flow shortcircuit grounding lightning protection lighting busbar design etc.);
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering from a recognized institution (Masters degree in power systems an asset);
- 10 to 15 years of relevant experience particularly related to power stations and/or substations;
- Exceptional academic and professional record;
- Exceptional problemsolving and analytical capabilities with a focus achieving results;
- Team player with great interpersonal communication and presentation skills;
- Client focused highly autonomous and ability to work under pressure;
- Comprehensive understanding of power system fundamentals;
- Knowledge or experience in HVDC FACTS or HV Cables an asset;
- Eligibility for registration with a Professional Order of Engineers;
- Knowledge of IEC IEEE and CSA standards for electrical equipment and installations;
- Availability for short trips to construction sites factories clients offices in Canada international and overseas.
- Fluency in English language spoken and written. Additional languages will be considered an asset.
- Proficiency in the following (or similar) software tools an asset: ETAP CYMECAP AUTOCAD
