- Define and develop consultants approach for HSE & Worker Welfare Assurance and ensure alignment with the overall project delivery strategy.
- Involve with a robust prequalification process to ensure the competency of the proposed contractors with regards to HSE management.
- Develop and deliver a monitoring schedule including tours inspections and audits of site and onsite welfare facilities.
- Lead weekly formal Health and Safety inspections workshops and meetings as required plus raise and verify close out of observations and actions identified.
- Chair weekly Health and Safety meetings with contractors Health and Safety and management teams.
- Ensure the implementation by the contractor subcontractors suppliers and vendors working under WME supervision contracts in line with the requirements set in.
- General conditions of construction contracts legal and other requirements.
- Ensure construction Health and Safety plans are in place for each contractor before construction begins.
- Review approve and verify the implementation of the contractors Health and Safety plans method statements and risk assessments (MS/RA) and all other deliverables as defined in the HSEQ manual.
- Ensure that the contractor provides a sufficient number of competent Health and Safety professionals to satisfy both legal and Employer requirements. The assessment of competence should include an interview.
- Ensure the contractor provides an adequate competent resource for Health and Safety critical roles such as appointed persons and those trained in emergency response. Competency assessment may include interviews.
- Carry out Health and Safety prestart kickoff meetings with contractors as per the employers agendas and requirements. Interface with contractors and employers Health and Safety departments.
