Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced PMC Commissioning Engineer to support the commissioning startup testing and turnover activities for a prestigious Oil & Gas pipeline construction project in Basra Iraq. Reporting to the Commissioning Manager the Commissioning Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring that commissioning activities comply with project specifications safety standards and international best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Commissioning Manager in implementing and maintaining an effective safety process for all commissioning activities.
- Collaborate with the project management team to ensure commissioning schedules align with overall project timelines.
- Review EPC contractors commissioning procedures plans and documentation for accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Supervise commissioning activities including startup and functional testing to ensure safe and efficient execution.
- Monitor and report progress of commissioning activities identifying risks and recommending corrective actions as necessary.
- Participate in risk assessments and develop mitigation plans for potential issues during commissioning.
- Coordinate with the EPC contractor and project stakeholders to resolve technical issues and ensure seamless execution of commissioning activities.
- Assist in the preparation and review of turnover documentation and ensure all deliverables are completed for project handover.
- Ensure quality assurance processes are followed during commissioning to maintain compliance with international standards and project specifications.
- Provide regular updates and progress reports to the Commissioning Manager for inclusion in overall project reports.
Qualifications :
- Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Experience:
- 1015 years of experience in commissioning and startup activities with a focus on Oil & Gas or pipeline projects.
- Proven experience in a PMC environment is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of commissioning processes startup procedures and international standards.
- Excellent problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management and reporting tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a dynamic project environment.
