Job Summary
The job holder is responsible for identifying and implementing approaches methods and emerging technologies to support the recording and documentation activities of the Heritage Management Department in line with international best practices
Responsibilities:
Managerial
- Actively participate in the development of the departments strategy and goals as well as establish and drive the execution of initiatives and plans to meet them.
- Determine the Financial and Human Resource requirements during the annual budgeting exercise advocating for optimal resource allocation based on priorities.
- Monitor the operational performance of the department compare them to the established objectives and goals whilst establishing periodic reports and reporting on them to superiors.
- Manage daytoday activities and operations.
- Refine and ensure proper documentation and implementation of all policies and procedures for the concerned department.
- Monitor subordinates performance and provide formal and informal feedback and appraisal in order to maximize efficiency.
Operational
- Gather and store all heritage digital data in line with international best practice (align with the Archive Center).
- Design create and continuously update a dedicated GIS database in support of the Heritage Management Department activities with the support of external consultants if appropriate.
- Work with the relevant teams to optimize and implement a Digital Assets Management system.
- Use data management tools to enhance the understanding of the significance of the heritage assets prioritize actions and inform the decisionmaking process.
- Contribute to and facilitate the recording documentation and information management components of projects defining recording and documentation needs in line with international best practices and standards (align with the Archive center).
- Ensure longterm access and periodical backup of all digital and archival resources on cultural heritage (align with the Archive center).
- Coordinate internally and externally to ensure compatibility of data and that digital approaches are aligned across .
Performs other responsibilities and tasks as directed by the Heritage Management Senior Director in order to meet objectives.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in architecture architectural/heritage conservation or equivalent.
Experience
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in the relevant field with 7 years of experience in a managerial role.
- Experience working in a similar role in KSA or the region
Job Specific Skills
- Full understanding of data management practice domains and different reference models.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
- Strong working knowledge of GIS and other software used for documentation and management of built cultural heritage and archaeological sites.
- Excellent understanding of data management lifecycle.
