Position Overview

The Graphic Designer for Oryx Universal College s Market Engagement Department is responsible for creating visually impactful and brandconsistent graphics that support the college s marketing initiatives. This role plays a critical part in shaping the college s image crafting design solutions for both digital and print media that enhance OUC s outreach and engagement with students stakeholders and the broader community.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Graphic Design and Visual Content Creation

    • Design digital and print materials including brochures flyers posters social media assets website graphics email templates and event collateral.
    • Develop innovative visual concepts that align with OUC s brand identity and appeal to a diverse audience.
    • Ensure highquality onbrand visual content across all marketing platforms.
  2. Brand Identity and Consistency

    • Uphold and enforce OUC s brand guidelines ensuring all materials are visually consistent and adhere to college branding standards.
    • Maintain a unified and professional look across all graphics reflecting OUC s mission and values.
  3. Social Media and Digital Marketing Support

    • Design graphics for social media posts advertisements and digital campaigns that drive engagement and align with current trends.
    • Collaborate with the social media team to create engaging visual content that enhances the college s online presence.
  4. Collaborative Project Work

    • Work closely with the Market Engagement team to understand project requirements objectives and timelines.
    • Collaborate with other departments such as Admissions and Academic Affairs to create targeted designs for specific initiatives and events.
  5. Printing and Production Management

    • Coordinate with print vendors for the production of printed materials ensuring quality and adherence to specifications.
    • Prepare printready files reviewing proofs and managing print production timelines.
  6. Creative Ideation and Continuous Improvement

    • Contribute fresh ideas for visual storytelling new design trends and creative approaches to college branding.
    • Regularly seek feedback to improve design quality and enhance effectiveness.


Requirements

Skills and Qualifications

  • Educational Background: B A recognised qualification in Graphic Design Multimedia Digital Media Visual Arts or a related field. A Bachelors degree would be a definite advantage.
  • Experience: 2 years of experience in graphic design preferably within marketing or higher education.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop Illustrator InDesign) and other design software.
    • Strong understanding of design principles typography color theory and layout composition.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in all aspects of design with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
  • Project Management: Ability to prioritize tasks manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and visual communication skills to effectively convey design ideas and collaborate with team members.

Preferred Attributes

  • Familiarity with UX/UI design principles and basic understanding of web design tools.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms digital marketing and best practices for online visuals.
  • Experience working with print vendors and managing production processes.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.


Skills and Qualifications Educational Background: A recognised qualification in Graphic Design, Multimedia, Digital Media, or a related field. A Bachelor's degree would be a definite advantage. Experience: 3+ years of experience in multimedia design, preferably in a marketing or educational setting. Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects). Strong understanding of video production equipment, editing software, and graphic design tools. Creative Aptitude: Ability to create innovative, eye-catching designs and videos that appeal to diverse audiences. Project Management: Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey design ideas and collaborate with team members. Preferred Attributes Experience in web design, content creation, or branding within a college or university setting. Familiarity with UX/UI principles and responsive design for web and mobile applications. Knowledge of social media platforms, trends, and best practices in digital marketing. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
