This position is responsible for delivering a seamless, high-quality in-room experience that meets or exceeds the guests' expectations, ensuring a memorable stay.
Key Responsibilities:
Stateroom Maintenance & Cleanliness: The Stateroom Attendant is responsible for maintaining assigned staterooms and corridors to the highest standards. This includes daily cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing the entire room, bathroom, and balcony. Tasks also involve washing windows, cleaning ceilings, and handling various room accessories such as furniture and draperies, ensuring they remain spotless.
Adherence to Cleaning Protocols: Following strict cleaning guidelines, the Stateroom Attendant ensures that all tasks, including changing linens, replacing towels, and sanitizing bathrooms, are done in line with USPH (United States Public Health) standards. They are also responsible for sorting and bagging soiled linen for collection and delivery to the laundry.
Cost Control & Inventory Management: Efficient use of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and amenities is critical. The Stateroom Attendant manages resources carefully to minimize waste, ensures supplies are in good condition, and makes requisitions as needed to maintain stock levels. They are also responsible for replenishing guest amenities like towels, toiletries, and stationery.
Guest Services & Interaction: Greeting guests upon embarkation and offering detailed information about their stateroom and available services is a key responsibility. The Stateroom Attendant provides guests with accurate and up-to-date information about onboard events, services, and amenities. They may also deliver canapés, transport luggage, and assist with room service as needed.
Mini Bar & Laundry Services: The Stateroom Attendant ensures that mini-bar items are restocked daily by coordinating with the Private Bar department and providing receipts to guests. They also manage guest laundry and dry cleaning, including transport to and from the laundry, ensuring clean items are promptly returned to the guest’s room along with any necessary billing information.
Equipment Maintenance & Safety: The Stateroom Attendant is responsible for keeping their tools and equipment in good working order. They report any malfunctioning equipment or maintenance issues to the appropriate departments and ensure that all work areas are safe and free from hazards to both guests and fellow crew members.
Stateroom Attendants are expected to present themselves in a professional manner at all times, adhering to the ship’s grooming standards. They report to their assignments on time and are well-groomed, maintaining a positive and approachable demeanor when interacting with guests.
Attending training sessions and meetings is essential to stay informed about the latest procedures and shipboard operations. The Stateroom Attendant must be proactive in their own development and be willing to adapt to new processes to enhance guest satisfaction.
This position requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills, a strong commitment to service excellence, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. The Stateroom Attendant's attention to detail and dedication to guest satisfaction make them a critical part of the overall guest experience aboard the ship.
