TheSoul Publishing, one of the largest digital media publishers globally, is seeking a talented and creative Scriptwriter to join our team at TheSoul Creative Agency. We are the company behind some of the most successful and engaging digital content on the internet, including the wildly popular DIY channel 5-Minute Crafts, the inspirational Bright Side, and a wide portfolio of other channels that reach over 2 billion followers worldwide across YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, and more.

As a Scriptwriter at TheSoul Creative Agency, you will play a crucial role in creating engaging and relatable content for our audience of teenage and young adult viewers, primarily based in the U.S. You will have the opportunity to develop scripts for 2D animation projects that capture the attention of young audiences and reflect the latest cultural trends and interests. You will work closely with a dynamic creative team, including producers and directors, to shape compelling stories that align with our brand’s goals and resonate with viewers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Script Creation: Develop engaging, original scripts for 2D animation projects that capture the essence of teenage and young adult experiences. You will be responsible for creating characters, dialogue, and plot structures that keep our audience entertained and invested.

• Trend Awareness: Stay on top of cultural trends, youth interests, and evolving audience preferences, ensuring that your writing is always fresh, relevant, and aligned with the current social and media landscape.

• Collaborative Process: Work closely with producers and directors to refine concepts and adjust scripts based on feedback. You will be expected to collaborate with the creative team to ensure that scripts meet both client expectations and the high standards of TheSoul Publishing.

• Script Revisions: Revise and update scripts based on internal and client reviews, making sure that the final product is polished, engaging, and ready for production. Attention to detail and the ability to adapt to changing directions are key to this role.

• Character Development & Storytelling: Develop rich character arcs and compelling narratives that resonate with young audiences. Craft storylines that balance humor, emotion, and relatable situations, while also staying true to the brand’s voice.

Desired candidate profile

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Experience: At least 3 years of screenwriting experience, with a portfolio of completed scripts, preferably for 2D animation or live-action content. Experience in digital media and online platforms is a plus.

• Audience Knowledge: A deep understanding of the themes, trends, and interests that are most relevant to teenage and young adult audiences in the U.S. is essential. You should be able to create content that speaks to this demographic in a meaningful and authentic way.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in screenwriting software (such as Final Draft, Celtx, or similar) is required. You should be comfortable writing in both short-form and long-form formats.

• Collaboration: Strong experience working with directors, producers, and creative teams to bring a vision to life. Your ability to adapt to creative feedback and work as part of a team will be vital.

• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and concepts.

• Creativity: A demonstrated ability to generate original ideas and compelling narratives that resonate with audiences and align with the project’s objectives.
