Roles and responsibilities

We are seeking highly qualified candidates for a part-time faculty position in the field of Psychology at our esteemed university. The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s degree in Psychology from a reputable institution and possess a strong academic and professional background in the discipline. In addition to academic qualifications, the candidate must demonstrate exceptional proficiency in both Arabic and English, as bilingual communication is essential for engaging with our diverse student body and teaching a wide range of courses.

The part-time faculty member will be responsible for developing clear learning objectives for each course, ensuring students are actively engaged, and accurately evaluating student performance through both formative and summative assessments. The role also includes providing constructive feedback to students, addressing any academic concerns, and maintaining a positive and supportive learning environment. Office hours will be available to students for additional guidance, ensuring that those who need extra help receive the necessary academic support.

In addition to teaching responsibilities, successful candidates will be expected to actively participate in the university’s research initiatives. While the role is part-time, there is an opportunity to engage in research activities within the university's priority areas. Candidates with a strong research potential will be encouraged to collaborate with faculty and contribute to advancing the university’s research mission.

Desired candidate profile

Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate must have between three (3) and five (5) years of teaching experience at the higher education level, with a proven track record of effectively teaching Psychology and related subjects. This includes designing and delivering course content, assessing student performance, and utilizing modern pedagogical approaches. Experience with developing new courses and adapting to the evolving needs of higher education is highly valued.

Candidates should have a solid foundation in the core concepts of Psychology, as well as the ability to teach a variety of undergraduate courses. This may include introductory Psychology, developmental Psychology, abnormal Psychology, social Psychology, research methods, and more. A commitment to student success is essential, and the faculty member must be willing to offer office hours, provide additional tutoring, and assist students who require extra support.
