The role involves comprehensive management and coordination of the assigned construction area to optimize productivity and adhere to project schedules. Daily reporting to the Construction Manager or Senior Project Engineer, along with the Project Management team, is essential to keep all stakeholders informed of progress, issues, and schedule adjustments.
Weekly construction management meetings are to be conducted with all contractors and subcontractors, where progress updates, challenges, and necessary amendments to the schedule are discussed. The manager is also tasked with developing contingency and recovery plans as needed, ensuring that any disruptions are managed effectively.
Monitoring contractor performance and equipment utilization is critical, providing ongoing input for continuous improvement strategies. Additionally, the manager oversees the delivery timelines of project materials and long-lead items to ensure alignment with construction schedules and milestones.
A strong understanding of construction techniques and equipment is necessary for devising effective strategies and ensuring daily operations are efficient and of high quality. Problem-solving skills are vital, as the role requires innovative solutions to complex challenges that arise on-site.
The position encompasses managing all on-site construction functions in accordance with established policies, procedures, and client requirements. Developing new procedures as necessary and acting as a liaison between project managers, construction teams, and contractors is integral to the role. Providing constructability input and supporting construction planning efforts are also key responsibilities.
Qualifications
Candidates must possess a relevant degree and have proven experience in managing large-scale construction projects. Familiarity with stakeholder and interface management, especially with organizations like the Royal Commission, MARAFIQ, Saudi Aramco, and HCIS, is essential. Proficiency in OSHA requirements is a must, alongside demonstrated expertise in safety implementation and successful performance metrics. Additionally, a solid foundation in quality assurance and inspection practices is required to ensure project success.
Moreover, the manager must ensure that Quality Assurance (QA) plans and Quality Control (QC) procedures are implemented and adhered to by all contractors and subcontractors, with all necessary reports produced as specified in the contract.
