This position is pivotal in ensuring that the organization adheres to all legal provisions while safeguarding its rights and interests. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in supporting various internal departments by offering legal consulting services, which include but are not limited to contracting, due diligence, and litigation management.
Key Responsibilities:
The Legal Support Specialist will engage in a range of tasks that are essential for the smooth operation of the bank's legal functions. This includes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The role also entails conducting thorough due diligence processes to mitigate risks associated with legal agreements and transactions. In instances of litigation, the specialist will assist in gathering necessary documentation, preparing case files, and liaising with external legal counsel.
Furthermore, the specialist will be expected to maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal changes and industry standards in Bahrain. This knowledge will be critical in advising internal stakeholders on potential legal implications and ensuring that all practices within the bank comply with local laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Law, with a Master’s Degree in Law considered a significant advantage. It is essential that the applicant is currently licensed to practice law in the Kingdom of Bahrain, demonstrating a clear understanding of the local legal landscape. A minimum of three years of experience providing administrative support to a legal, technical, or executive team is required, showcasing a solid foundation in legal principles and practices.
Job-Specific Skills:
The successful candidate will exhibit a strong familiarity with word processing software and spreadsheets, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The ability to swiftly learn and adapt to new software functions will also be critical, as the bank may utilize various tools to enhance legal processes. Exceptional analytical skills are a must, as the role involves reviewing contracts and extracting key information, often in complex situations.
