Roles and responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Legal Counsel to join our innovative scale-up, which has developed a transformative ecosystem aimed at reshaping its industry. In this pivotal role, you will provide essential legal guidance that supports the organization’s business objectives while ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Your expertise will be critical in managing legal risks, drafting and reviewing contracts, and advising on corporate governance and compliance issues.

Key Responsibilities

As Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for a diverse range of legal matters, offering advice to internal stakeholders on corporate governance, compliance, and contractual issues. You will draft, review, and negotiate various contracts and agreements, ensuring they align with the organization’s goals while effectively mitigating legal risks.

Monitoring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards will be a key aspect of your role. You will provide legal support for mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions, which are crucial for our growth and development. Conducting legal research and analysis will enable you to inform corporate decision-making and contribute to strategic planning.

In addition to these responsibilities, you will develop and deliver training programs designed to educate staff on legal compliance and best practices. This initiative is vital for fostering a culture of awareness and responsibility regarding legal matters within the organization. You will also coordinate with external legal counsel and other professionals when necessary, ensuring that we receive the best possible advice and representation.

Assisting with dispute resolution processes, including negotiations and litigation management, will be another critical function of your role. Your ability to navigate these situations effectively will help safeguard the organization’s interests. Staying updated on changes in legislation and regulations that may impact the organization will be essential to ensure ongoing compliance and strategic agility.

Desired candidate profile

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates should possess a Bachelor of Law (LLB) or an equivalent qualification, along with admission to the bar in an EU jurisdiction. A minimum of five years of experience as legal counsel, preferably in a corporate or in-house setting, is required. A strong understanding of corporate law, commercial contracts, and compliance matters is essential.

We are looking for someone with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as outstanding written and verbal communication abilities. You should be able to work collaboratively across departments while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in English is a must, and additional language skills in French, Spanish, or Portuguese will be considered a significant advantage.
