The successful candidate will play a crucial role in forecasting, budgeting, and preparing detailed weekly and month-end reports. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of catering, cleaning, and housekeeping services, adhering to the British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICS) standards and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Oversight: You will manage the budgeting process, ensuring that expenditures align with forecasts. This includes calculating rewards and penalties to guarantee cost-effective contract delivery and maintaining accurate records of financial performance.
Operational Excellence: In this role, you will assist in auditing processes and ensure the implementation of quality controls within soft services. You will monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and strive for continuous improvement, evaluating ideas for additional scope of work and innovations that enhance service quality.
Maintenance Coordination: You will handle maintenance needs by coordinating repairs and following up on corrective measures. Working closely with technical staff, you will ensure that all maintenance requirements are effectively implemented.
Customer Engagement: Engaging with clients is critical. You will monitor key elements of facilities management services, ensuring that Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are not only met but exceeded. You will serve as the primary interface between project customers and contracted service providers.
Safety and Compliance: Upholding safety and security standards across all soft services areas is essential. You will ensure compliance with regulations and promote a culture of safety within the team.
Leadership and Team Management: As a leader, you will prioritize people management, including coaching, employee development, and engagement. You will participate in recruitment processes, conduct performance appraisals, and organize regular team meetings to foster a collaborative work environment.
Relationship Building: Building and maintaining strong working relationships both internally and externally is vital. You will engage with various stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and high service standards.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is required.
Experience: A minimum of 10 years in a similar role, with a strong background in soft services management, is essential.
Certifications: Relevant catering qualifications are preferred, along with a valid driving license. BICSc certification is a plus.
