Roles and responsibilities

The Green Zone serves as a vital platform for disseminating knowledge and fostering public engagement on issues related to desertification, land degradation, and sustainable land management. Unlike the Blue Zone, which is reserved for governmental and ministerial discussions, the Green Zone is open for 11 days and features more than four pavilions dedicated to diverse themes, each day focusing on specific topics relevant to combating desertification.

As the subject matter expert, your primary responsibility will be to review content submissions and provide insights into their suitability for the various themes of the Green Zone. You will leverage your extensive knowledge in the field to ensure that all proposed sessions are credible, relevant, and impactful. Your role will involve assessing a wide array of content, from presentations and workshops to interactive displays and educational materials.

Given the substantial volume of suggested content, you will work closely with the operational delivery team, which comprises experts in event logistics but may lack specialized knowledge in desertification and land management issues. Your expertise will guide the team in effectively allocating content sessions to appropriate forums and sections of the program, ensuring that each day's offerings resonate with the overarching goals of the COP16 conference.

The Green Zone aims to engage a broad audience, including civil society, youth, and the general public. It is essential that the content reflects a diversity of perspectives and innovative solutions while maintaining scientific integrity. Your ability to discern high-quality submissions will be crucial in shaping a program that not only educates but also inspires action toward sustainable land practices.

Desired candidate profile

This contract will commence immediately and extend through the duration of the conference, concluding on December 13, 2024.
