Roles and responsibilities
Provide the site with Safety direction and support to ensure safe and (RC” Royal commission” and HCIS “High Commission of Industrial Safety”) regulatory compliant operation across the Site through effective supervision of the Safety team in close collaboration with colleagues both within the team and with other functions.
You will be responsible to:
- Ensure specifications of new machinery and equipment are meeting safety standards.
- Continuous inspections of facilities and equipment to identify hazards and take required action to rectify.
- Overview safety procedures and rectify unwarranted situation.
- Recommend improvement in safety regulations, procedures.
- To take lead and demonstrate leadership during emergencies, or accidents.
- Interpret results and implement changes/corrective actions regarding work related accidents to avoid/prevent accidents reoccurrence.
- Keep records of various inspections, e.g., Fire extinguishers Hoist, lifting slings, exit signs, and other safety signs.
- Take initiative to rectify any defective safety signs or situation conducive to personnel safety.
- Organize periodic inspection of safety related equipment including fire hydrants, extinguishers, foam truck, cranes, and hoists.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Safety Management System.
- Meet the goal of zero harm, at risk incidents/accidents to employees, contractors, and the environment by establishing the Safety culture.
- Company Safety Programs coaching and assessment.
- Development of new standards or review of existing H&S standards.
- Incident Investigation, RCA’s and facilitation as assigned related to worker injuries and significant near misses and collect, verify, and report associated metrics.
- Support maintenance/ contractor safety plans and participate in all facility maintenance outages and/or repair projects to ensure safety planning and safety execution are in line with a goal of zero injuries.
Desired candidate profile
Qualifications: We are seeking a dedicated professional with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering degree. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management systems, specifically with ISO-45001, and familiarity with industries operating under HCIS jurisdiction.
Key Skills: The ideal candidate will excel in priority management, ensuring standards and accuracy in all tasks. Strong knowledge management abilities, teamwork, and collaboration skills are essential. We value high personal commitment to achievement and the capability to drive improvement in others. Supervisory experience with on-the-job training, performance enhancement, analytical thinking, and fair judgment are crucial. Effective communication skills are a must.
