Roles and responsibilities

The Planning Engineer will play a critical role in the successful execution of civil engineering projects by overseeing project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation. This position requires a strong understanding of construction processes, as well as excellent analytical and communication skills. The ideal candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning:

   • Conduct feasibility studies to assess project viability and resource requirements.

2. Monitoring and Reporting:

   • Prepare regular progress reports for management and stakeholders, detailing project status, challenges, and timelines.
   • Utilize key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success and efficiency.

3. Coordination and Collaboration:

   • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
   • Participate in project meetings, providing insights and updates on planning and scheduling issues.
   • Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely availability of materials and resources.

4. Risk Management:

   • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.
   • Implement contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges and ensure project continuity.

5. Compliance and Quality Assurance:

   • Ensure that all project activities comply with relevant regulations, safety standards, and quality assurance protocols.
   • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and adherence to project specifications.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Planning Engineer in civil engineering or construction projects.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
