Roles and responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Rig Senior Superintendent for a full-time, on-site position in Kuwait, focusing on deep drilling operations with 3,000hp rig capabilities. This critical role will encompass overseeing daily rig activities, ensuring safety compliance, managing drilling operations, and optimizing rig performance. The successful candidate will work closely with various cross-functional teams to meet and exceed operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

As the Rig Senior Superintendent, you will be responsible for supervising all aspects of rig operations. This includes:

• Daily Operations Management: Oversee the daily activities on the rig, ensuring all tasks are executed efficiently and in alignment with operational standards.

• Safety and Compliance: Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for all personnel on board.

• Drilling Activities Coordination: Manage the planning and execution of drilling activities, making real-time adjustments as necessary to optimize performance and minimize downtime.

• Performance Optimization: Analyze rig performance metrics and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency. Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve any performance-related issues.

• Cross-Functional Coordination: Liaise with various departments, including engineering, logistics, and maintenance, to ensure seamless operations. Foster effective communication between teams to align efforts and achieve common goals.

• Leadership and Team Development: Lead and mentor rig personnel, promoting a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Provide guidance and support to junior staff and ensure that all team members are adequately trained and certified.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

• Experience in Deep Drilling Operations: A strong background in deep drilling, with significant experience in managing rig operations, specifically with 3,000hp rigs.

• Knowledge of Safety Protocols: Familiarity with safety regulations and protocols related to drilling operations, with a proven track record of maintaining high safety standards.

• Leadership and Communication Skills: Exceptional leadership abilities, along with strong verbal and written communication skills, to effectively coordinate with diverse teams and stakeholders.

• Drilling Activity Management: Demonstrated ability to manage and optimize drilling activities, with experience in decision-making and problem-solving.

• Relevant Certifications: Certifications in rig operations and safety, such as IWCF or IADC, are essential.

• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to interpret performance data and implement improvements.
