Roles and responsibilities

As an IT Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the IT Manager in the operation and maintenance of all computer hardware and software. Your responsibilities will include serving as a secondary contact for servicing PC hardware and software, as well as managing the technology and asset life-cycle to ensure the availability of necessary equipment, such as PCs, servers, and telecom-related devices.

You will be accountable for disaster recovery and business continuity as it pertains to technology, proactively identifying and resolving system performance issues. Your role will also involve ensuring that technology assets are secure and well-maintained in accordance with Rixos policies and standards.

Key Responsibilities

Data Communication:

• Install, monitor, and maintain telecommunications equipment, including cabling, while providing technical guidance as necessary.
• Perform adds, moves, changes, and deletions to ensure seamless communication across the organization.
• Support end-user mobile phone issues and troubleshoot high-speed Internet access problems, escalating issues to the IT Manager when appropriate.

Desktop Support:

• Image desktops, install new software applications, apply patches, and map drives to the correct server/network.
• Manage the movement, addition, and changes of PCs and peripherals, including migrating data as needed.
• Maintain a sufficient inventory of computer-related supplies, ensuring that all hardware and software needs are met promptly.
• Keep a detailed log of all computer hardware and document all service calls related to computer maintenance.

Desired candidate profile

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess prior hospitality experience and excellent communication skills. A degree in Computer Science or a related field is also required.
