Your responsibilities will involve conducting thorough inspections to verify that all activities meet required standards and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
In this position, you will assist the Resident Engineer by reviewing contractor shop drawings and progress reports to ensure adherence to project requirements. Your involvement will extend to attending technical and progress meetings, where you will monitor contractor resources and assess their compliance with design intentions, method statements, Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations, as well as quality standards.
You will also participate in witness testing for mechanical systems, ensuring that all installations meet operational standards before final acceptance. Regular inspections of contractor work will be essential to verify that quality, schedule, and budgetary constraints are met, alongside strict adherence to project drawings and specifications. Additionally, you will need to ensure compliance with relevant international and local codes and safety regulations.
A critical part of your role will involve reviewing contractor method statements, procedures, and material approval requests, along with construction drawings and associated documentation. Your attention to detail will be pivotal in maintaining high standards throughout the construction process.
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this position, you must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university. A relevant professional qualification will also be beneficial in demonstrating your commitment to the field.
