Roles and responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated Project Development Specialist to collaborate with our team in refining and enhancing our documentation for the Academy's inaugural cohort of projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring our projects are well-prepared for commercial launch and making a tangible environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Refine and Enhance Documentation: As a Project Development Specialist, you will play a crucial role in reviewing and improving a range of materials for our Academy's first cohort. This includes templates, training guides, and pre-feasibility studies. Your expertise will help us create comprehensive and user-friendly documentation that serves as a solid foundation for our projects.

2. Prepare for Future Projects: Looking ahead, you will assist in building the framework and content for the next cohort of projects. This involves ensuring that all materials are not only relevant but also ready for successful commercial launch. Your contributions will be vital in shaping the future of our initiatives and enhancing our impact in the field.

3. Source and Select Projects: A key part of your role will be to identify and evaluate promising projects that can join the Academy. Our goal is to secure a minimum of five new contracts for the upcoming cohort. You will leverage your industry knowledge and network to discover innovative nature-based solutions (NBS) that align with our mission.

4. Support Project Development: Working closely with grassroots organizations, you will help strengthen their project documentation and readiness. This includes guiding them through technical requirements and best practices, ensuring that they are well-equipped to execute their projects effectively. Your support will empower these organizations to achieve their goals and maximize their environmental impact.

Desired candidate profile

What We’re Looking For:

To be successful in this role, we require candidates with at least three years of experience in carbon project development, particularly in nature-based solutions. You should possess a strong track record in creating detailed project documentation, including Project Idea Notes (PIN), Project Design Documents (PDD), and business plans.

Your proficiency in crafting these materials will be instrumental in our ongoing success. Additionally, a passion for environmental impact and a collaborative mindset are essential, as you will be working with diverse communities and stakeholders.

Fluency in English is a must, while proficiency in Spanish or French will be considered an asset. This multilingual capability will enhance our outreach and engagement efforts across various communities.
