Roles and responsibilities

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing and Logistics Coordinator to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating all activities related to procurement, shipping, and logistics to ensure smooth and timely delivery of goods. The role includes following up on all emails received from and sent to suppliers and clients, ensuring optimum feedback, and maintaining effective communication with suppliers. The candidate will track and document all purchasing transactions, updating relevant files on a daily basis.

Key responsibilities include monitoring the production schedule with suppliers, ensuring payments are made on time, and coordinating with the finance team to prepare accurate financial reports. The candidate will also be responsible for contacting shipping lines to negotiate the best prices and services for freight, managing shipping bookings, and tracking orders and shipments from the time an order is placed until it is delivered at the warehouse.

Additionally, the Purchasing and Logistics Coordinator will liaise with customs clearance agents, prepare the necessary documentation for customs and delivery, and conduct regular price comparisons to ensure competitive purchasing costs. The ideal candidate should have a strong sense of urgency, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Fluency in English and Arabic, along with 4+ years of experience in logistics and international arrangements, is essential.

The ideal candidate is a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with a minimum of 4 years of experience in purchasing, logistics, and supply chain management. They should possess exceptional multitasking abilities and have a strong sense of urgency to meet tight deadlines and resolve issues promptly. Fluency in both written and spoken English and Arabic is a must. The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree and demonstrate proficiency in MS Office, especially in Excel and Word. Experience in international logistics arrangements and a thorough understanding of customs clearance processes is essential. Strong communication and negotiation skills, along with a proactive approach, are highly desired.
