2. OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:
Inspect test repair and maintain (discipline specific) plant and operations equipment/machinery (routine adhoc emergency and strategic maintenance) to ensure continuous integrity and sustainable and safe operation
3. QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Qualification:
1. High school certificate
2. Maths and Science desirable
3. Trade test 1 Year experience as Artisan (subject to personal performance)

- Routinely inspect and test equipment/machinery/fixtures using applicable(discipline specific) testing equipment/tools
- Identify hazards defects or the need for adjustment or repair to ensure compliance with safety and other regulations (with limited supervision where required)
- Correct and safe use of a variety of discipline specific tools or equipment (manual and power tools) to test analyse repair and modify plant equipment/machinery/fixtures
- Perform routine service requirements
- Troubleshooting: determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it
- Execute repairs/modifications: dismantle fix and reassemble of machines/equipment
- Examine workpieces for defects and ensure conformance with specifications and safety requirements
- Perform adhoc and/or emergency maintenance (including shutdowns)
- Execute discipline specific artisan work during projects
- Plan layout and installation of equipment/machinery/fixtures
- Prepare and maintain records detailing tests repairs and/or maintenance
- Consult manuals schematics flow diagrams and engineering personnel to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and to determine optimum equipment functioning
- Analyse test data to diagnose malfunctions to determine performance characteristics of systems and/or to evaluate effects of systems modifications
- Strict adherence to safety codes regulations rules and procedures
- Read and comply to work orders and specifications to determine machine/equipment requiring repair or maintenance
- Identify correct parts needed for replacements and repairs and timely order following correct procedures
