Engineer - Machinery Commissioning

One of our valued clients in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is looking to hire for the position of Engineer Machinery & Commissioning. The ideal candidate should possess 39 years of relevant experience in shipbuilding.

Job Purpose

ALeadership of the Commissioning division for New commercial ships MRO Ships & Rigs.

• Accountable for the safe effective and efficient utilization of physical and human resources employed in all commissioning related project activities in accordance with the contract and Company Management System.
• Joining a new elished company the applicant will be initially focused on elishing the departments functional objectives strategies plans and procedures for new commercial ships the building of jackup rigs and/or Maintenance that repair & overhaul of rigs and ships.

Especially the special knowledge is required as below.

• Knowledge of commissioning procedure for main engine diesel generator and boiler etc.
• Knowledge of vessel systems like fresh water sea water fuel and lubricant system etc.
• Knowledge of electrical diagram equipment panel and systems etc.

BLeadership of the Machinery division for New commercial ships MRO Ships & Rigs.

Especially the special knowledge is required as below.

• Knowledge for Propulsion machinery like main engine shaft and propeller etc.
• Knowledge for Steering machinery like steering gear power pack rudder stock and rudder etc.
• Knowledge for diesel generator pumps boiler and winches .

Key Accountabilities:

ACommissioning

1. Machinery commissioning management:

Monitoring productivity of all machinery installation activities in shipbuilding rig construction and ensuring timely completion of works fulfilling quality and safety. Collaborating with other departments/ zones to develop and implement new processes systems and procedures that continually increase efficiency and productivity.

2. Monitoring whole piping system and electric system:

Monitoring the whole piping system and electric system before the outfitting work is completed. Make sure the whole system is operating properly with other engineers like electrical and mechanical engineers.

3. Obtain ship owners clification inspections of required systems.:

After checking the systems request the inspection from ship owners and clification society and obtain the approval for system according to the drawings.

4. HSE Management:

Pursuing zero harm to employees by ensuring that all machinery installation activities are executed safely in compliance with HSE standards/procedures and TDS/MSDS of paint material.

5. Resource Management:

Taking primary responsibility for allocating and managing manpower and resources for commissioning in accordance with the project schedule and budget. Monitoring actual et costs/manhours against budgeted costs/manhours and take corrective action for overruns. Coordinating with other production departments/ zones and the et Management group to avoid et and resource duplication.

6. HR Management:

isting the Human Resource team with workforcerelated issues such as site support recruitment transportation disciplinary procedures labor relations site welfare facilities and offsite accommodation. Contribute to ti all employees.

7. Relationship Management:

Maintain close relationships with Planning Project Management et Management and HR groups as well as field/OSV Production groups which are crucial to the Production Management groups success.

BMachinery

1. Machinery installation management

Monitoring productivity of all machinery installation activities in shipbuilding rig construction and ensuring timely completion of works fulfilling quality and safety. Collaborating with other departments/ zones to develop and implement new processes systems and procedures that continually increase efficiency and productivity.

2. Planning for Machinery installation

Developing a clear production strategy and plan for machinery installation load ysis block transportation/ arrangement and manpower. Planning ang monitoring materials for machinery installation and consumables for the project in advance.

3. HSE Management

Pursuing zero harm to employees by ensuring that all machinery installation activities are executed safely in compliance with HSE standards/procedures and TDS/MSDS of paint material.

4. Resource Management

Taking primary responsibility for allocating and managing manpower and resources for machinery installation work in accordance with the project schedule and budget. Monitoring actual et costs/manhours against budgeted costs/manhours and take corrective action for overruns. Coordinating with other production departments/zones and the et Management group to avoid et and resource duplication.

5. Space Planning

Planning and managing the use of machinery installation area which are the movable shelters and yard space based on current project requirements and potential project awards.

6. Training for Preoutfitting

Preparing work procedures and instructions for all machinery installation activities required for shipbuilding and rig projects. Preparing machinery installation training materials for workers and production managers and conducting appropriate training regularly.

7. HR Management

isting the Human Resource team with workforcerelated issues such as site support recruitment transportation disciplinary procedures labor relations site welfare facilitiesandoffsite accommodation. Contribute to the development of all employees.

8. Relationship Management:

Maintain close relationships with Planning Project Management et Management and HR groups as well as field/OSV Production groups which are crucial to the Production Management groups success.

Qualifications & Experience:

ACommissioning

• Bachelors Degree in shipbuilding Mechanical Electrical engineering navigation or equivalent.
• Experience working in commissioning navigation and inspection in shipyards.
• Knowledge for understanding diagrams at a professional level.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems communicating systems navigation or electrical systems regarding vessels or jackup rigs.
• Strong communication ss for internal and external stakeholders within the organization
• Ability to swiftly resolve issues regarding sea trial working.
• Leadership and management ss for handling various situations.
• Experience Min. 39 years of relevant experience in shipbuilding

BMachinery

1. Bachelors Degree in shipbuilding or Mechanical engineering or equivalent.
2. Experience working in a machinery installation embly and inspection in shipyard
3. Knowledge of how to read drawings and production processes at a professional level.
4. Knowledge of measuring devices such as lasers and conventional measuring devices.
5. Strong communication ss for internal and external stakeholders within the organization.
6. Ability to swiftly resolve production issues.
7. Leadership and management ss for handling various situations.
8. Min. 39 years of relevant experience in ship building.
