One of our esteemed clients in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is seeking to hire a PreOutfitting Manager. The ideal candidate should have at least 15 years of experience in PreOutfitting within the shipbuilding industry.
Job Purpose
The PreOutfitting Department Manager in shipbuilding is to lead and manage the preoutfitting departments operations ensuring the efficient installation of equipment systems and components in ship structures during the construction phase. The role is responsible for coordinating with other departments overseeing the preoutfitting process ensuring compliance with project requirements and safety standards and delivering highquality preoutfitted ship sections for subsequent construction phases.
Key Accountabilities
1. Department Management:
- Manage and lead the preoutfitting department including planning organizing and coordinating department activities.
- Ensure efficient resource allocation including manpower materials and equipment to support the preoutfitting operations.
2. Equipment and System Installation:
- Oversee the installation of various equipment systems and components in ship structures including but not limited to HVAC piping systems electrical systems accommodation fittings and interior outfitting.
- Ensure compliance with engineering drawings specifications and quality standards during the installation process.
3. Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and develop a team of preoutfitting technicians providing guidance training and performance feedback. Foster a culture of excellence teamwork and continuous improvement within the preoutfitting department.
4. Coordination and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other departments such as engineering production and procurement to ensure seamless integration of preoutfitting activities with other shipbuilding processes.
- Coordinate with project managers engineers and stakeholders to understand project requirements and timelines.
5. Quality urance and Compliance:
- Implement quality control measures to ensure the proper installation alignment and functioning of equipment and systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations shipyard specifications clification society rules and industry best practices.
6. Project Planning and :
- Participate in project planning and scheduling activities to determine preoutfitting requirements milestones and deliverables.
- Monitor progress and provide timely updates on preoutfitting activities ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
7. Vendor and Supplier Management:
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for timely delivery of preoutfitting materials equipment and components.
- Evaluate supplier performance and negotiate contracts to ensure costeffective procurement
8. Risk essment and Mitigation:
- Identify and ess risks ociated with preoutfitting operations including potential schedule delays resource constraints and technical challenges.
- Develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimize risks and ensure project success.
9. Doentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate doentation of preoutfitting activities including work orders inspection records and compliance doents.
- Prepare regular reports on departmental performance project progress and compliance status.
Education
- Bachelors degree in Naval Architecture Marine Engineering Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Relevant certifications in shipbuilding project management and leadership are advantageous.
Experience
Minimum of 15 years of experience in PreOutfitting in shipbuilding. Extensive experience in shipbuilding or offshore construction with a focus on preoutfitting activities. Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role is highly desirable.
