Vacancy: SSD Specialist Supplier Development

Location: Yokohama Japan

Work regime: homeoffice arrangements and occasional trips to supplier locations (the person should be based in Yokohama or nearby where most of the suppliers are located)

Technical Scope

• The service is framed within the quality assurance of POE components in the context of process validation at suppliers by technologies for both new projects and robustness in series production (corrective and preventive).
• The service involves monitoring suppliers in Japan and part of the loose parts scope mechanical parts assembled at the vehicle plants of the Group for which the quality assurance and piloting have been delegated to.
• Knowledge and experience in product/process for electronic technology is required as a large part of the scope will be related to these processes.

Requirements

• Knowledge in the automotive field particularly in the design manufacturing and validation of automotive components as well as in quality assurance tools.
  
• Knowledge of Quality tools: system/process audits and 8D process analysis and validation (4M Ishikawa 5W IS/ISNOT FTree FMEA RFMEA control plan process capabilities).
• Knowledge of electronics power electronics and batteries.
• Knowledge of technical drawing interpretation.
• Languages: English (Negotiation level).
• Availability for travel to suppliers and other company sites (B1 driving license required).
• Minimum qualification: Technical Engineer.
• Clear and precise verbal and written communication skills. Ability to synthesize and present to the Management Committee as the project leader.
• Proficiency in office software (Office).

Expected Results

• Collaborate crossfunctionally with other areas (manufacturing logistics product engineering process engineering purchasing TQF customer quality).
• Ensure suppliers timely response in line with expected criteria and format.
• Report define and follow up on audit actions for systems processes nonconformities and Firewall audits.
• Lead preventive activities at supplier processes: Feed and apply the Lessons Learned database by technologies RFMEA audits and process window restrictions.
• Decide organize and lead task forces with suppliers and escalate concisely on progress status action plans and closure visibility.
• Manage Firewall: KPIs (control points and rejection rate).
• Escalate to purchasing: Prepare a dossier with key topics and supporting arguments.
• Manage warranty incidents including reporting to the client plant when requested as the single point of contact for the issue.
• Ensure supplier adherence to KPIs. Lead action plans with TOP WORST SUPPLIERS to restore expected levels.
• Lead supplier during Project phase in process validation: Ensure that the quality of documentation and process progress meets the agreed timeline.

Activity Calendar

• The activity will be carried out according to the local sites calendar adjusting working hours to meet the needs within morning afternoon and night shifts.
• Part of the work may need to be carried out during factory downtime (weekends holidays and vacation periods) and this must be taken into account when planning the service.
