Data analyst
Location: Philadelphia PA Onsite
Duration:6 months
Project Scope:
The client aims to modernize its data infrastructure by mapping all existing systems and migrating the data to a centralized data lake on Amazon S3 and Redshift. This project will involve a Data Analyst to gather review clean and preprocess data and a Data Integration Specialist to create and maintain the data pipelines for smooth data migration.
Ideal Candidate:
Senior Data Analyst 7 yrs with ability to work onsite and exp with Amazon S3 and cloud database similar to Redshift.
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detailoriented Data Analyst for a temporary assignment to join our dynamic team. The primary focus of this role is to participate in mapping and documenting all existing data systems at PHL and well as collecting reviewing cleaning and preprocessing data from various systems. The secondary focus will be creating reports and visualizations of data. The ideal candidate will have strong analytic skills be proficient in data manipulation tools and possess a keen eye for detail. This position requires 3 or more years of experience working as a Data Analyst.
Work activities:
- Gather data from identified systems in various formats including databases spreadsheets and external systems
- Review data for accuracy and completeness
- Identify inconsistencies and anomalies within data
- Clean data to eliminate duplicates correct errors and fill missing values
- Standardize data formats for consistency
- Prepare data for integration into data lake
- Collaborate with department analysts/business owners to understand data of identified systems
- Collaborate with engineers analysts and developers to assist in understanding and both upstream and downstream uses of data
- Create comprehensive data mapping documents
- Create data review and cleaning report
- Create comprehensive reports and dashboards to present data findings to stakeholders.
- Utilize data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI) to create interactive and intuitive visual representations of data
- Communicate complex data insights in a clear and concise manner to nontechnical audiences
Skills/experience of the assigned staff:
Required
- Strong SQL skills
- Strong Analytical skills
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
- Aptitude for learning other analytical tools
- 3 years experience as data analyst or similar role
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy
Highly Desired/Preferred
- Experience with cloud platforms
- Experience using Azure Data Factory
- Experience using Python
- Experience using AWS S3
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI).
