Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for overseeing financial activities related to our agricultural operations ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting the companys financial objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of accounting principles excellent analytical skills and experience in the agriculture industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements including balance sheets income statements and cash flow statements ensuring they align with GAAP and company policies.
• General Ledger Management: Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled in a timely manner.
• MonthEnd Close: Lead the monthend and yearend closing processes including preparing and reviewing journal entries account reconciliations and financial reports.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts providing detailed analysis of financial data to support business decisions.
• Cost Accounting: Monitor and analyze costs related to agricultural operations including inventory labor and overhead to ensure accurate cost allocation and reporting.
• Internal Controls: Develop implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies accounting standards and relevant agricultural industry regulations.
• Audit Support: Provide necessary documentation and support for internal and external audits ensuring all financial records and processes are in compliance with audit standards.
• Tax Compliance: Assist with the preparation and filing of tax returns ensuring compliance with federal state and local tax regulations.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations.
• Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field. CPA certification is required.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 57 years of accounting experience with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role preferably in the agriculture industry.
  • Strong experience in financial reporting general ledger management and cost accounting.
• Skills:
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks SAP Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical problemsolving and organizational abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide junior staff.
  • Knowledge of GAAP tax regulations and agricultural accounting practices.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with the financial aspects of agricultural operations and industryspecific regulations.
