CCI Group is a global leader in translation and localization services dedicated to bridging language barriers and promoting accessibility. We are committed to ensuring that our clients digital content is accessible to everyone including individuals with disabilities. As part of our ongoing efforts we are seeking experienced 508 Compliance Experts to join our freelance team and support our mission of inclusivity.
Role Summary:
We are looking for highly skilled 508 Compliance Experts with a strong background in accessibility standards and regulations. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that translated digital content meets Section 508 compliance requirements. You will work closely with our project managers translators and quality assurance teams to provide expert guidance and support in multiple languages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and evaluate digital content for Section 508 compliance.
- Provide detailed feedback and recommendations for remediation to ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with translators and localization teams to integrate accessibility features into translated content.
- Conduct accessibility testing using various tools and methodologies.
- Stay uptodate with the latest accessibility standards guidelines and best practices.
- Provide support to internal teams and clients on 508 compliance requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience in ensuring digital content complies with Section 508 standards.
- Strong knowledge of accessibility guidelines (WCAG ADA etc.).
- Experience with accessibility testing tools (e.g. JAWS NVDA AXE).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide clear actionable feedback.
- Proficiency in one or more languages other than English.
- Strong attention to detail and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Availability for freelance work with a flexible schedule.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in accessibility (e.g. CPACC WAS CPWA).
- Experience in the translation and localization industry.
- Familiarity with HTML CSS and JavaScript for remediation purposes.
- Multilingual proficiency is a significant advantage.
Fluency in listed language and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages. Proven experience as an interpreter, preferably in a social service, legal, or healthcare setting. Understanding the unique needs and challenges faced by at-risk youth and cultural competency in working with diverse populations. Ability to maintain professionalism, composure, and empathy in emotionally charged situations. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively. Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and protocols governing the care and protection of at-risk youth is a plus but not a requirement.
