Linux Engineer

Job Summary:

The Linux Engineer will be responsible for the design implementation and management of Linux servers and associated applications within the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux administration scripting and a solid understanding of network protocols and security best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design deploy and manage Linux server environments ensuring optimal performance security and reliability.
• Perform system installation configuration and maintenance of Linux servers and related applications.
• Monitor system performance troubleshoot issues and implement solutions to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
• Manage user accounts permissions and security policies to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to automate processes and improve system deployment through DevOps practices.
• Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions for Linux systems.
• Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations processes and procedures.
• Provide technical support and training to endusers on Linux applications and systems.
• Stay current with industry trends tools and best practices related to Linux administration and technologies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g. RHCE LPIC) are a plus.
• Proven 2 years of experience as a Linux Engineer or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g. Ubuntu CentOS Red Hat) and associated technologies.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g. Bash Python Perl) for automation and system management.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure Google Cloud) and virtualization technologies (e.g. KVM VMware) is preferred.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
