• *This position will be physically located in Qatar in support of LOGCAP**
1. Researches, plans and designs of British Standards Electrical systems for new building construction and building renovation projects to include fire protection
2. Consultation with DPW and customers to insure Letter of justification (LOJ) requirements are met
3. Prepares or modifies reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and designs for project
4. Inspects construction activities to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, construction and safety standards, by way of Quality Control Inspections if need
5. Uses (AutoCAD/Micro-station) computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents
6. Knowledge, familiarity and application of IBC, OSHA, Welding, ACI and AISC codes
7. Performing other essential tasks as required.
Responsibilities

• Plans and designs electrical systems.
• Develop Statements of Work (SOW)
• Provide Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCE)
• Use AUTO-CAD design software
• Coordinate customer’s desire with needs
• Inspects construction activities
• Determine feasibility of design approaches
• Performs other duties and assignments as required
Qualifications
• Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
• BSEE is required; must be a licensed Professional Engineer in the USA
• US citizen
• Good and outstanding police record for Department Of Defense clearance.
• Prefer 10 years’ experience and should be well versed with Contract Management requirements
• Familiarity with US Military Engineering Regulations helpful but not mandatory
• Experience:
• Extensive Electrical Engineer experience (5 Years).
• AutoCAD experience (5 years)
• Skills:
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of construction project management.
• Skilled in evaluating work performance of contractors and consultants for compliance with project plans, specification and applicable laws, ordinances and policies.
• Must be able to read and evaluate blueprints and technical schematics.
• Must have experience using and knowledgeable of the following standards:
• ASME, Uniform Building Codes, SpecIntact
• Must be able to analyze building components i.e. heat transfer and internal heat transfer to determine HVAC needs.
• Must be able to supervise and manage the activities of multi-national and culturally diverse work force.
• Possess knowledge of safety and environmental issues as they relate to Facilities & Construction Management.
• Be familiar with various Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Prior military experience a plus but not mandatory.
• Working Conditions:
• Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).
• Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
• Physical Requirements:
• Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
