Role: Senior Section 508 Analyst
POP: 12 months Contract
Location: Remote must be able to come on site for adhoc meetings (Bethesda MD)
SCOPE OF WORK:
Compliance assessment and remediation for the public web sites internal web sites and custom developed web applications at FIC as per the HHS requirements for Section 508 compliance.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Bachelors degree in computer science information systems engineering business management other related discipline or equivalent
- At least 10 years of expertise in reviewing websites applications webinars emails and multimedia for 508 Compliance and making PDFs websites videos and documents 508 compliant.
- Experience conducting 508 Compliance training.
- Experience with JAWS and NVDA screen readers WAVE and aXe web accessibility tools Color Contrast Analyzer Validity HTML Checker MAGic zoom tool Dragon
- Naturally Speaking Acrobat Pro CommonLook PDF and PAC (PDF Accessibility Checker).
- Extensive experience providing remediation support including but not limited to conducting and recommending remediation for applications websites PDFs blast emails videos podcasts audio slideshows online surveys Word documents and Excel documents using a standard checking process that incorporates HHS requirements for Section 508 compliance.
- Extensive experience in ensuring that all sites meet the standards for accessibility by individuals with disabilities (Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act) as well as all applicable Federal HHS NIH and FIC standards for security and privacy.
TASKS:
- Provide a summary report for all FIC web applications/systems to the FIC 508 Coordinator on a quarterly basis or when FICs needs arise.
- Create compliance measures of the public web sites by using the rulesets defined in the HHS tool.
- Provide remediation support including but not limited to conducting and recommending remediation for applications websites PDFs blast emails videos podcasts audioslideshows online surveys Word docs and Excel documents using a standard checking process that incorporates HHS requirements for Section 508 compliance.
- Identify content that may require an accommodation waiver and work with appropriate staff and the FIC Section 508 Coordinator to develop and submit applications to the NIH Section 508 Advisory Group.
