Qualifications
Required
- Associate degree or higher
- 2 years of experience in ANY of the following:
- Acute Care
- Inpatient Facility
- 1 years of experience in ANY of the following:
- Orthopedic
- Surgery Orthopedic
- Post Acute
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) certification/license in the state of Oregon (OR)
- ANY of the following valid licenses/certifications:
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS)
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA ACLS)
- American Red Cross Basic Life Support (ARC BLS)
Overview
As a Post Surgical Unit Nurse you will provide comprehensive care for postoperative patients collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to assess plan and implement individualized care. You will document patient assessments and interventions while ensuring optimal patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide holistic care for postoperative patients including orthopedic bariatric urologic or general surgical procedures.
Assess patients' physical psychosocial and learning needs.
Establish nursing diagnoses and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
Plan and update care based on identified diagnoses and needs.
Implement individualized care including medication administration wound care and pain management.
Assist with activities of daily living and patient handling.
Teach patients and families about healthcare illness prevention and wellness promotion.
Supervise unlicensed assistive personnel for optimum patient care.
Coordinate interdisciplinary careand document patient assessments and interventions. Schedule and Shift Details
12hour nights frommust float to the MCU and IMCU as needed.
