The Role: We are seeking a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to join a dedicated and supportive team in a regional setting.

- New state of the art Intensive Care Unit with 8 ICU/HDU beds, it is a Level 1 Teaching Hospital.

You will be expected to provide quality leadership within a multi-disciplinary team of Registrars/HMO s and 45 midwives, as well as providing supervision and support to doctors in training.
You will ensure that care is patient-centred, safe and demonstrates a standard of excellence, caring for low-risk women independently and high-risk women with medical supervision. There is also a Public Antenatal and Gynaecology Clinic, with Colonoscopy provided by other medical practitioners. With a new paediatric ward currently in development, neonatal and paediatric beds will increase, staffed by 5 Paediatricians.
A highly skilled, multi-disciplinary team made up of staff specialists, VMOs, registrars, and HMOs accept all risk patients, providing invaluable experience that is not often available in a metropolitan hospital.
The Hospital is affiliated with Monash University, it provides Level 4 maternity and neonatal, with around 900 births per annum. Recently transitioning to public management, the hospital is enjoying a clinical renaissance.
The Hospital: 172 bed, modern facility, and tertiary teaching hospital. The hospital assists a catchment population of up to 100,000 and provides several Acute Services including Emergency, General Medicine and Surgery, Intensive Care, Mental Health, and Paediatrics.

Skills & Qualifications required:- Registered with AHPRA as a Specialist
- FRANZCOG (or equivalent)
- Preferably worked in a regional setting.
- Extensive recent experience in obstetrics and gynaecology (O&G) in a public hospital.
- Commitment to participate in the O&G on-call roster.
Desirable- Experience in O&G in a regional/rural area
- Basic life support skills.
- Research experience
- Teaching and training experience
