IT Security Specialist

Job Description:

The IT Security Specialist will be responsible for protecting the companys IT infrastructure including networks hardware and software from a range of cyber threats. This role involves implementing security measures monitoring systems for vulnerabilities and responding to security incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement security policies protocols and procedures.
• Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and respond to security breaches.
• Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.
• Install and manage security software such as firewalls antivirus programs and intrusion detection systems.
• Investigate security breaches and other cyber security incidents.
• Collaborate with IT staff to ensure system security and compliance.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on IT security best practices.
• Stay updated on the latest security threats and industry trends.
• Assist with disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Manage user access controls and identity management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Cybersecurity or a related field.
• 3 years of experience in IT security or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols firewall management and security technologies.
• Proficiency with security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
• Experience with penetration testing and vulnerability management.
• Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Industry certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) CompTIA Security or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) are highly desirable.
