Role: Research Scientist II
Location: Neenah WI ONSITE
Hours: MondayFriday 8am4:30/5pm
Summary:
We are seeking a Scientist (Role Level P1/Grade 12) for our Life Sciences team. The incumbent will report to a Life Sciences Senior Research Manager in Corporate Research Organization to conduct fundamental research in skin biology in our BSL2 lab. The successful candidate will have a drive for results and attention to detail with the ability to carry out lab experiments with minimal supervision document results and communicate effectively. Collaboration in a team environment is essential. The candidate will take work direction from the project leader.
Must have:
1. Bachelors or MS Degree in Microbiology or related field with lab experience
2. Expertise in culturing propagating enumerating and analyzing microorganisms including fungi bacteria and/or viruses. Ability to prepare media and support laboratory management.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in lab and experiment planning to safely and efficiently carry out required experiments to advance skin research work.
- Follow written experimental and equipment operation procedures with high attention to detail and ability to perform tasks independently.
- Employ effective written and oral communication to document findings and report promptly to appropriate team members.
- Always maintain safety and contribute to the safe and efficient functioning of the laboratory. Maintain a clean and organized laboratory.
- Collaborate effectively in BSL2 lab to drive skin health research.
Required Qualifications:
- B.S. in one of the biological sciences with laboratory expertise in cellular biology and/or microbiology and biomedical engineering.
- Experience working in a BSL2 lab and culturing primary cells and/or tissue explants including media development.
- Experience conducting cellbased assays cytokine quantification ELISA qRTPCR.
- Fluent in efficiently executing laboratory protocols with a high attention to detail
- Evidence of quickly learning biological assays/methods assisting with protocol standardization and performing robust data analysis to deliver results.
- Able to maintain a safe work environment appropriate for a biological laboratory (BSL2).
- Excellent communication skills with ability to influence projects and partner direction thru oral and written means.
- Working knowledge of appropriate computer software such as Windows suite especially Excel for data recording and graphing.
- Proven record of successful results working in multidisciplinary crossfunctional teams
