Job Description:

The role of a Meter Reader is crucial as they are responsible for collecting and recording data from different utility meters such as those that measure electricity and water consumption. The data collected by meter readers is essential for accurately billing customers and ensuring the proper functioning of utility services.

Job Qualifications/Responsibilities:

• Completion of high school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and terminology.
• Ability to read and record meter readings accurately from different types of electrical meters.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure precise recording of meter readings.
• Capability to identify irregularities or discrepancies in readings and report them to supervisors.
• Physical fitness to walk long distances and stand for extended periods particularly outdoors.
• Ability to lift and carry equipment.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols especially when working with electrical equipment and hazardous environments.
• Ability to report any issues or concerns to supervisors or relevant departments.
• Dependability and selfsufficiency to work with minimal supervision.
• Basic computer skills to record and submit meter readings using electronic devices or systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve simple technical problems related to meter reading or equipment.
