Job Summary:

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Nurse Practitioner with certifications in Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and PsychiatricMental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Osawatomie State Hospital in Kansas is seeking a skilled professional like you to join our dynamic team. This role offers an opportunity to provide comprehensive care in an inpatient setting making a real difference in the lives of our patients.

Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough patient assessments including diagnosis and development of treatment plans.

Provide psychiatric health services education and support ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Order and interpret lab tests explaining results to patients and their families.

Deliver medical care services as indicated in accordance with state statutes.

Collaborate with Registered Nurses to write medical goals addressing both acute and chronic medical concerns.

Implement therapeutic interventions including:

Medical Services

EvidenceBased Therapeutic Approaches (e.g. DBT techniques motivational interviewing)

Leisure and Fitness Activities

Nutrition Services

Requirements:

Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and PsychiatricMental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) within the state of KS

Experience in an inpatient setting is preferred.

Strong assessment diagnostic and treatment planning skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

Excellent communication and patient education skills.

Commitment to providing highquality compassionate care.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Strong understanding of positive behavior supports and motivational interviewing techniques.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients families and interdisciplinary team members.

Ability to manage and document patient care from admission through discharge.

Competence in medication administration policies and adherence to regulatory guidelines.

Cultural sensitivity and ability to provide care that respects the diverse backgrounds of patients.
