Korzen Health is collaborating with a healthcare network in Northern Arizona and seeking an Anesthesiologist to join our team at Verde Valley Medical Center.

About Us:

Were a team of 5 physician anesthesiologists and 6 CRNAs and we work closely in a medical direction model. Were proud to be a physicianled department within a physicianled hospital system. This means we have a say in hospital decisions and actively contribute to hospital leadership and committees creating a positive practice environment focused on topnotch patient care.

Types of Cases: We handle cases in 45 Main ORs 12 endo suites and a cath lab. We also run a lowvolume OB service. Our focus is mainly on outpatient elective surgeries including general surgery GI orthopedics breast surgery gynecology and urology. We do some regional anesthesia but not pediatrics.

Work Details: This is a shiftbased role with 15 required shifts per month for a 1.0 FTE position after considering paid leave and CME. Shifts are typically 812 hours long and we often finish early. Youll be scheduled for around 45 hours during working weeks but youll spend less than 35 hours inhouse during those weeks. Youll enjoy approximately 14 weeks of vacation per year and there are no senioritybased restrictions on vacation requests. Physicians handle scheduling not administration.

Assignments/Call: On weekdays three physicians work varying shifts. The shortest day shift usually ends before noon and the longest lasts until 5 pm when the last OR finishes. The late physician covers call from home with a 30minute response time after the last OR finishes. The call physician works after 5 pm about 50% of the time often for placing labor epidurals. Call physicians dont have to stay inhouse even with running epidurals and they get a postcall day off. We require 18 calls per quarter averaging one call night per week and one call weekend per month.

Extra Work: You can take extra shifts but its not mandatory. Extra shifts pay your hourly rate multiplied by 12 hours plus a $500 extra shift stipend. This adds up to a substantial monthly bonus making the workload both sustainable and financially rewarding.
