**Job Role:** Python Developer with UNIX Scripting and Cybersecurity Background

**Job Description:**
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Python Developer with a strong background in UNIX scripting and cybersecurity to join our clients dynamic team in New York City. This is a 6month contract position with the potential for extension based on performance and project needs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coding a keen eye for security vulnerabilities and the ability to work effectively in a fastpaced collaborative environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
Develop test and maintain highquality Python applications and scripts.
Write and maintain UNIX shell scripts to automate various tasks and processes.
Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to identify and mitigate potential security threats.
Implement best practices for secure coding and ensure the security of applications and data.
Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues in a timely manner.
Work closely with crossfunctional teams including DevOps IT and product management to deliver robust solutions.
Stay uptodate with the latest trends and technologies in Python development UNIX scripting and cybersecurity.
**Required Qualifications:**
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
Proven experience as a Python Developer with a strong portfolio of projects.
Proficiency in UNIX/Linux operating systems and shell scripting.
Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
Familiarity with cybersecurity tools and frameworks such as OWASP Nmap Metasploit etc.
Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to work onsite in New York City for the duration of the contract.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
Relevant certifications such as CISSP CEH or OSCP.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS Azure or Google Cloud.
Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools such as Jenkins Docker or Kubernetes.
Experience with version control systems preferably Git.
Familiarity with additional programming languages such as JavaScript Go or Java.
