SR INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEER

PUPROSE OF THE JOB:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Instrumentation Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design implementation and maintenance of instrumentation systems for midstream and downstream operations within the oil and gas sector.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop instrumentation solutions for midstream and downstream projects ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
• Conduct detailed design and engineering of instrumentation systems including control systems process instrumentation safety instrumented systems (SIS) and fire and gas detection systems.
• Perform instrument sizing selection and specification considering factors such as process conditions reliability and safety requirements.
• Prepare technical documentation including instrument datasheets specifications loop diagrams wiring diagrams and control philosophies.
• Participate in design reviews hazard and operability studies (HAZOP) and safety integrity level (SIL) assessments to ensure the reliability and safety of instrumentation systems.
• Provide technical support during the procurement installation and commissioning phases of projects ensuring adherence to design specifications and industry best practices.
• Conduct site surveys and inspections to assess instrumentation performance identify issues and recommend solutions for optimization and improvement.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance and expertise in instrumentation engineering principles and practices.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Instrumentation Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in instrumentation engineering preferably within the oil and gas industry and engineering consultancy firms.
• Indepth knowledge of instrumentation systems control systems and safety instrumented systems (SIS) for midstream and downstream operations.
• Proficiency in instrumentation design software such as SPI IN tools or similar tools.
• Familiarity with industry standards and codes such as ISA API NEC and IEC relating to instrumentation and control systems.
• Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex instrumentation issues and propose effective solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
• Experience with process safety concepts and practices including HAZOP SIL assessment and functional safety standards (e.g. IEC 61511).
• Proven track record of delivering highquality instrumentation solutions within project timelines and budget constraints.
