Saw Operator

Position: Crystal Saw Operator

Division/Department: Detector Materials/Crystal Prep
Location: 3100 Stock Creek Blvd.
Incentive Pay Level: Manufacturing Tech 2

Essential functions: (general purpose and job responsibilities)

Operate manual and/or computer controlled saws (ID wire C&C) to cut LSO crystal material from boules and/or slabs.
Install rollers as needed
Service and maintenance of all saws.
Evaluate and log sawing failure rates for trend analysis
Additional duties include bonding material to be cut.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Qualifications/Basic Position Requirements: (education experience licenses etc.)

Machinist apprentice or mechanical QC experience required.
Basic Machining skills required
35 years experience in the use of dial indicators calipers and other machine measuring tools.
Must be able to read detailed mechanical drawings.
Basic computer operational skills required.
Attention to documentation detail is a necessity.


The candidate will train on their respective shift which consists of four(4) 10 hour days MT with the possibility of OT on FSu. Upon completion of their training the employee could be transferred to a weekend shift consisting of three(3) 12 hour hours shifts (36 hrs.) but will be paid for 40 hours.
