This can sit in Nashville TN

Work Environment: The first 2 weeks will be fully onsite in the Nashville Tennessee office and then it will be fully remote. Tbut must reside in Tennessee and be open to the 2 week training period (client will not pay for their travel there so theyll need to handle). NO RELOCATION CANDIDATES

Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties and tasks may be assigned.

Creates and maintains production reports and development databases

Performs proactive capacity planning to ensure database availability is not affected

Performs proactive monitoring and performance tuning of the database instances

Install various patches to keep databases up to date and install new versions of the Oracle/SQL Server database to ensure compatibility with existing applications

Plans and implements backup and recovery of the databases.

Manage encryption on Production and non production databases (SSL & TDE).

Migrate NonCDB database to CDB database as needed.

Implements and enforces security for all of the Databases(Oracle/SQL Server).

Puts standards in place to ensure that all application design and code is produced with proper integrity security and performance. The DBA will perform reviews on the various database objects design and code to ensure the site standards are being adhered to.

Evaluates releases of Oracle/SQL Server and its tools and third party products to ensure that the site is running the products that are most appropriate.

Planning is performed by the DBA to ensure that application release takes place with minimal impact.

Provides technical assistance from database perspective to application development teams in designing various objects in the database schema.

Administers all database objects including tables clusters indexes views sequences packages and procedures as well as Database Replication.

Uptodate knowledge of database technology trends

Experience with database patching and upgrades

Experience in any Unix shell script Perl script and Python

Experience in Oracle SQL/PLSQL

Understanding of Rest APIs

Knowledge of best practices and DEVOPS methodologies in an alwaysup alwaysavailable service

Strong troubleshooting skills to investigate errors and performance bottlenecks

Assists with impact analysis of any changes made to the database objects.

Troubleshoots problems regarding the databases applications and development tools.

Configures and maintains Cross Database Replication tools(Eg. Oracle Golden Gate Services) to ensure reports databases stays in sync

Setup new users and privileges as required

The DBA has ultimate responsibility for the physical database design.

Qualifications/Requirements:

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Requirements include:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field

35 years of database administrator experience.

A good knowledge and experience working with Oracle or SQL Server is required

Experience with Operating System commands and scripting

A good knowledge of physical database design is preferred

Ability to proactively perform both Oracle/SQL Server and operating system performance monitoring

Excellent knowledge of Database backup(Oracle/SQL Server) and recovery scenarios

Good skills in various Database monitoring tools

Experience with Cross Database Replication(Eg. Golden Gate) product is preferred

A good understanding of Database security management.

A good knowledge of how Database acquires and manages resources.

Experience and knowledge in migrating code database changes and data through the various stages of the development life cycle.

A sound knowledge in performing database query optimization

A DBA should have sound communication skills to be able to collaborate with various stakeholders
