Minimum Requirements

• Education: An advanced university degree in Education or related field is required.
• A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.
• Experience: A minimum of eight years of professional experience in programme planning, management, and/or research in education is required; including demonstrated knowledge of designing and implementing strategies for improving children’s learning; teaching and learning packages in basic education. Experience of leading and managing pre and in-service teacher education is desirable.
• Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
  

Desirables

• Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency.
• Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.
• Extensive working experience working in schools is highly desirable.
• Experience working in a middle-income country is considered as an asset

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance.  Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station is required for IP positions and will be facilitated by UNICEF. Appointments may also be subject to inoculation (vaccination) requirements, including against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid). Should you be selected for a position with UNICEF, you either must be inoculated as required or receive a medical exemption from the relevant department of the UN. Otherwise, the selection will be canceled.
