Role & Responsibilities

The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in mathematics/statistics actuarial

science(optional) and data science with a proven record of delivering complex data science projects.

In this role you will have the opportunity to apply your expertise in Life insurance actuarial

modelling and programming (Python/R) to support the development and implementation of cuttingedge actuarial

solutions.

This role is responsible for working in a team which works on developing life insurance

products developing pricing basis creating profit test models cashflow modelling valuation models

asset liability management solvency reporting GAAP reporting SCR/MCR calculations and optimization

EV/MCEVcalculations etc.

Qualifications

o Graduate/Postgraduate in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Statistics Mathematics with

strong background in Data Science from top tier engineering institute and

o Min 2 actuarial exams passed will be a plus.

o Proven experience in statistical modelling particularly in the context of life insurance.

o Demonstrable understanding of regression classification GLM and techniques like Random

Forest SVM XGBoost LightGBM etc.

o Strong programming skills in relevant data science languages e.g. R or Python.

o Experience range 1 – 3 years with deep and firsthand experience in data science ecosystem.

o Impressive knowledge of machine learning techniques

o Ability and willingness to selflearn adapt and guide other team members in new and emerging

stateoftheart technology

o Exceptional ability to interpret complex statistical results and convey them to various

stakeholders

o Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively across

product development and management teams.

o Ability to work independently as well as in collaborative setting.

o Translate technical findings to both actuarial and nonactuarial stakeholders.

o Strong analytical skills

o Apply hypothesis testing to confirm findings or compare various model performances.

o Analyse complex datasets gleaning insights that can inform policy pricing underwriting decisions

etc.

o Collaborate with actuarial and crossfunctional teams to ensure models align with business needs

and regulatory requirements.
