Per Diem PRN - Geriatric Nursing Assistant GNA - 20 - 22 per hour

• Responsible for helping residents and patients with activities of daily living (ADL s) including bathing feeding dressing skin care positioning ambulation toileting and range of motion activities.
  
• Works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse/LPN.
  
• Maintains patient stability by checking vital signs and weight testing urine and recording intake and output information.
  
• Provides patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials transporting patients answering the patient call lights and requests and reporting observations of the patient condition to the licensed Nurse/LPN or appropriate personnel.
  
• Demonstrates appropriate knowledge for safe use of medical equipment such as cane crutches walkers lift side rails brace splints and oxygen.
  
• Documents actions by completing forms reports logs and records.
  
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques basic wound care and patient safety.
  
• Always maintain patient confidentiality.
  
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures rules and regulations.
  
• Initiates emergency resuscitative measures according to adult resuscitation and advanced life support protocols.
  
• Provides care in a nonjudgmental nondiscriminatory manner that is sensitive to the patient s and family s diversity preserving their autonomy dignity and rights.
  
• Serves and protects the facility by adhering to professional standards policies and procedures; federal state and local requirements.
  
• Knowledge of various computer systems.
  
• Demonstrate proficiency in verbal and written communication skills.
  

Requirements

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant license in the State of Maryland
  
• Certified Nursing Assistant degree from an accredited institution
  
• At least 12 years of GNA experience in Long Term Care or Skilled Nursing Facility
  
• Current CPR/BLS certification
  
• Physical vaccination status and PPD/Chest XRay
